CHAPTER 11 : NAGARS AND MAHANAGARS |

Article
11.1 : Any city having the population of
more than two million will be considered as Mahanagar. Article
11.2 : Any city or town having the
population of not more than two million and not less than 50000 will be
considered as Nagar. Article
11.3 : Any village or town having
population of less than 50000 will be considered as rural population. Article
11.4 : Any
nagar or mahanagar will be devided into basic units of nearly 10000
population and it will be called EKAM. Article
11.5 : Every
Ekam will be treated as village and it will have constitutional authority
to administer the affairs of the Ekam as if it is village and will enjoy
the constitutional powers as per the Village List so far as it is not
inconsistent with the structure and administration of the nagar or
mahanagar. Article
11.6 : In
every mahanagar, nearly 50 adjoining Ekams will make Ward of Mahanagar. So
mahanagar will be devided into wards of nearly 50 Ekams each as the
situation and population of mahanagar. Article
11.7 : Every
ward of mahanagar will be treated as taluka and it will have
constitutional authority to administer the affairs of the ward as if it is
taluka and will enjoy the constitutional powers as per the District List
so far as it is not inconsistent with the structure and administration of
the mahanagar. Article
11.8 : Every
nagar will be treated as taluka and it will have constitutional authority
to administer the affairs of the nagar as if it is taluka and will enjoy
the constitutional powers as per the District List so far as it is not
inconsistent with the structure and administration of the nagar. Article
11.9 : Every
mahanagar will be treated as district and it will have constitutional
authority to administer the affairs of the mahanagar as if it is district
and will enjoy the constitutional powers as per the District List so far
as it is not inconsistent with the structure and administration of the
mahanagar. Article
